What I liked

I loved interning at Lockton! You do real work that will actually be used, and you work on projects with other interns. Lockton cares about its Associates and company culture. There are so many networking opportunities, talent development sessions, and lunches with company leaders. It was a great experience.

PRG Summer Intern

Intern

June - August 2017 • Dallas, TX

What I liked

Lockton is an incredible environment to learn about insurance brokerage. The experience you gain at Lockton will set you apart from any other candidate trying to get a job in insurance. I was exposed to a variety of different types of insurance doing work that impacted high-profile clients. There's no necessary prior knowledge needed to succeed at Lockton - they will take care of you and teach whatever you need to know.

What I wish was different

Other interns complained about slow days occasionally, but there's usually work that needs to be done if you go out and look for it.

Advice

It's really best to know someone who works at Lockton to secure an interview. Ask around for contacts and try and make a connection. Not sure how much luck you will have cold-calling, so knowing someone helps tremendously. Before the interview make sure you research just exactly what insurance brokerage entails.
