What I liked
Brookings provided endless opportunities for learning, networking, and career development. I was afforded a great balance of autonomy and support in my daily tasks. Interns were able to attend a variety of events, including external events and intern-specific opportunities.
What I wish was different
Although my research program pays interns, other research programs do not.
Advice
Don't be afraid to reach out to scholars and researchers in your own program and others. Everyone I spoke to was happy to provide career advice or chat about their own research projects.
