-Associates degree or certificate or 2 years drafting experience in sheet metal 

-An entry level position in the Engineering department with room for & expectation of advancement.

-Meyda Lighting is a multi faceted decorative lighting manufacturing and importing company located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. We are committed to both quality and value conscious clientele. We work with Architects, Design Firms, Specifiers, Electrical distributors, Homeowners, and Commercial Lighting National Accounts. Our product is featured in chains like Dave & Busters, Panera bread, Chic Fil-A, Cabela Outdoor stores, various high end and chain restaurants as well as Hotels and commercial buildings. We are always expanding by attending a proven cycle of trade shows, and traveling the country visiting clients with our sales team which covers all 50 states and Canada. We often have office dogs begging for biscuits and our company picnic is held each summer at the Enchanted Forest Water Safari in Old Forge, NY. 

Duties & Responsibilities.

-Assist the engineer with 3d modeling and creation of cad files

-Serve as a liaison between production and the engineer offering solutions as appropriate

-Creating files for CNC processing

-Documenting via drawings as built notes

-Creating drawings for customer or vendor use

-Creating fabrication drawings

-Understanding UL principals and designing within the UL guidelines 

-Understanding the fundamental principals of sheet metal fabrication and designing to the tools and methods we are proficient with

-Designing with a cost conscious strategy

Skills

-Solidworks 3d modeling proficiency (or similar)

-Autocad 2d drafting proficiency (or similar)

-Detail oriented

-A little eye for design

-Math and geometry
