Cinematographer and Video Editor

We’re expanding our visual team to include a skilled BAY AREA CA Cinematographer + Video Editor who can help us capture commercial shoots, interviews, reels, and events in a way that feels cinematic, grounded, and transformative.

What We’re Looking For:
An experienced and well-equipped cinematographer/editor hybrid with strong storytelling instincts, technical know-how, and a collaborative spirit. You know how to light a scene, record clean audio, and edit with emotion. You’re not just capturing content—you’re helping shape stories that resonate.

Key Responsibilities:
 Cinematography & Production

Capture high-quality video content for branded campaigns, interviews, behind-the-scenes, events, and reels

Create intentional lighting setups for indoor and outdoor shoots

Record clean, clear audio (especially for interviews & reels)

Transport and manage your own gear (camera, lighting, audio, etc.)

Travel to shoot locations across the Bay Area (mostly East Bay + San Ramon)

Video Editing

Edit short-form and long-form content for web, reels, YouTube, and client use

Create visually cohesive, emotionally engaging stories that match the nperfectstudio aesthetic

Deliver videos optimized for social media (Reels, TikTok, IG, YouTube)

Color grade for cinematic vibes while keeping skin tones natural

Creative Collaboration & Teaching

Collaborate closely with Nadirah to brainstorm visual approaches

Support on-set team members and coach them on simple video techniques

Share basic filming, lighting, and sound skills with the team to help grow in-house capabilities

What You Bring:
A strong reel/portfolio that showcases cinematic visuals, interviews, and event coverage
Deep knowledge of video production, lighting setups, and audio recording
Proficiency in Premiere Pro (and optionally DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, etc.)
Your own camera, gimbal, lights, mics, and editing setup
A grounded, collaborative energy—you’re confident but not ego-driven
Excellent time management & communication skills
A car + ability to travel locally to shoots

Nice to Haves:

Experience with photography or hybrid photo/video shoots

Passion for storytelling, creativity, and helping others grow

Familiarity with brand storytelling or commercial content for creatives and small businesses
