Part-Time Social Media Assistant
MedPage Today (MPT) is seeking a Social Media Assistant (Freelance) to support our Senior Social Media Manager in the day-to-day management and long-term strategy of our digital presence. This role will help grow engagement and drive traffic to our website and social platforms through thoughtful content creation and strategic posting.

MPT is also becoming the home for leading voices in medicine with our growing Opinions section, and our newly formed Enterprise & Investigative team is shining a spotlight on existing and emerging critical issues for clinicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grow our presence and engagement across Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Bluesky, Threads, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Reddit
- Assist with content creation, copywriting, and social media strategy
- Edit short-form video content for social platforms
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a strong passion for social media and digital storytelling
- Be experienced with Canva, CapCut, Sprout Social (or similar tools), and creating graphics or video content for social media
- Be a creative, self-starting, detail-oriented team player with a collaborative mindset
- Have excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
- Be up-to-date with social media trends and best practices (a working knowledge of meme culture is a plus!)
- Have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Bonus (Not Required):
- Passion for or background in healthcare/ journalism/ medical content
- Experience with video production or scriptwriting
- Comfortable appearing on camera
Position Details:
- Hours: 28 hours/week
- Pay: $30/hour
- Location: Remote (East Coast preferred); optional NYC office access
