Continuous Improvement Coordinator Internship

Purpose: 
The Continuous Improvement Coordinator (Internship) supports and drives continuous improvement (CI) initiatives across Lallemand Baking North America. This role involves coordinating CI projects, acting as a CI ambassador, and assisting in the development and implementation of CI strategy.  

Essential Functions:  

  • Collaborate with the Director of Quality Systems and Continuous Improvement to implement CI strategies.
  • Assist in selecting, prioritizing, and coordinating cross-functional improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for project success.
  • Support the improvement of Business Management System CI related content.
  • Lead on-site implementation of 5S and visual management initiatives (e.g. SQCDME, Kanban, etc.)
  • Contribute to training and coaching to develop and raise employee awareness and competence levels in continuous improvement, including training on effective tools for successful project leadership.
  • Promote the integration of continuous improvement tools into the business’ activities.
  • Help in facilitating root cause analyses to identify and resolve process inefficiencies, as needed.

Technical skills
Required

  • LEAN or Six Sigma Certification from a recognized organization (such as AME or ASQ) - Green Belt as a minimum

An asset

  • Hands-on experience with LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma and/ or Lean Six Sigma (LSS) principles, with a recognized external certification is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience if a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Projects and Cognos BI are plus.

General criteria
Required

  • For work location at the Memphis site; Must be available to travel up to 50% of the time to mainly support CI activities in Baltimore and Hattiesburg sites.

Internship Pay: Depends upon location and current experience.
