Communications Intern
The Communications Intern will work to promote the work of SIRT and its partners to both external and internal audiences. Duties will include creating social media content and assisting with assessment of our social media presence; writing content for newsletters, blogs, website, and similar; putting together the biannual SIRT newsletter; assisting with updates to the SIRT website; meeting regularly with UMC to promote SIRT’s work; and working with SIRT staff and affiliates to identify and communicate about ongoing projects and opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Interest in sustainability
- Excellent writing ability
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Background in Journalism or similar preferred
- Experience with WordPress, Canva, and similar programs preferred
Dates: May 2025 - June 2026 (with potential to extend)
Hours: 10 hours/week x 35 weeks = 350 hours
Compensation: $12/hour
