Residence Life Sustainability Intern
The Res Life Sustainability intern will work with the Sustainability Director to engage students in the residence halls with sustainability programming. The intern will develop programs to engage students and teach what Sustainability is and why UWO is committed to it. The intern will also work with stakeholders such as The Director of Residence Life (or designee) and other Res Life staff to reintroduce general knowledge and programming of sustainability in the res halls, as well as working with staff on the access campuses. The intern will engage students directly in the res halls once per month, as well as through trainings with CAs, developing resources for Res Life staff, and serving as a conduit between Residence Life and the Sustainability Office.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated interest in sustainability
- Background (at least one course, preferably more) in Environmental Studies or related subjects
- Interest in marketing, community engagement and outreach, social media, or related fields
- Good problem solving skills and able to work independently
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with Residence Hall culture, Res Life programming is a plus
Dates: May 2025 - June 2026
Hours: 10 hours/week x 35 weeks = 350 hours
Compensation: $12/hour
