Regulatory and Product Development Intern

The Internship

We’re offering an exciting summer internship for a college student or recent graduate to join us 3 days a week at our Southport, CT office (moving to Norwalk in July). This 10-week internship kicks off around June 3 and is a chance to gain hands-on experience at a mission-driven pet wellness company.

You’ll work closely with our Regulatory and Product Development teams on impactful projects, including a deep dive into sustainability and impact claims. Your focus will be researching regulations, auditing our current practices, benchmarking competitors, and creating a brief presentation to share your findings.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with state registrations for pet food, supplements, and pesticide products, plus tonnage reporting.
  • Keep key regulatory resources (product lists, label libraries, ingredient info) organized and up to date.
  • Review new ingredients for compliance with AAFCO guidelines and Earth Animal’s standards.
  • Conduct initial reviews of labels and marketing materials for accuracy and compliance, then collaborate with the Regulatory team on next steps.
  • Support quality efforts by assisting with product testing.
  • Gain exposure to R&D projects and trials.

You Are:

You’re an Animal Science, Food Science, or Environmental Science major (or recent grad) curious about working on a Regulatory & Product team at a mission-driven company. You’ve got:

  • Strong attention to detail and solid communication skills.
  • Confidence to ask questions and share feedback.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint) and pulling together presentations.
  • Bonus: Coursework related to government regulations.
