Lead Artist

Our Studios in Dracut, MA & Salem, NH are looking for an energetic, skilled artist to work in our fast paced environment! Must be able to guide classes and birthday parties for children, adults, or a combination of the two; up to 18 people during a 2-3 hr acrylic painting class or camp program. This is not an ordinary art class - we are all about learning more about Art while having FUN! We help people to love what they create. IF you can instruct a small to large group and enjoy being the “host with the most”; we would like to hear from you!

 

Other duties include setting up for class, clean-up, checking in clients and reconciling payments/checking attendance.

 

Schedule includes: Weeknights, Weekend days and/or evening, and seasonal camp program times 8am-1pm in accordance with the school year calendar.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Teaching detailed teaching methods during our fine art classes
  • Instructing clients during class in an energetic, clear and well-paced manner while encouraging creativity and creating a relaxed, fun atmosphere
  • Leading and directing a small team of assisting artists
  • Assisting customers and staff member(s) to ensure smooth class flow and promote customer painting success through teamwork and positive attitude.
  • Cultivating and growing class size through your charismatic and capable  teaching 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Reliable
  • Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills
  • Confident public speaking or performance skills
  • Proficiency in google docs, sheets, and basic point of sale knowledge
  • Basic computer skills and internet knowledge

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Comfortable with acrylic medium, tools and painting composition
  • Experience leading a group of people (classroom or otherwise)
  • Experience in customer service
  • Studies in Art or Design related fields.

Successful Candidates must possess the following:

  • Be 18 or older and valid driver’s license, and have reliable transportation
  • Willing to travel for outside events and conventions
  • Punctual, dependable and available
  • Be available year round and willing to work split shifts, evenings, weekends, holidays, and over school breaks for NH & Mass (winter, spring & summer)
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Comfortable speaking in front of a group and enjoy working with families, especially children
  • Have an appreciation for art and the abilities of all ages; be encouraging.
  • “Team Work” spirit and also capable of following through with minimal supervision
  • Results Driven/ goal orientated: A positive sales pulse!
  • Like working with your hands and have an eye for details
  • Basic computer and POS knowledge
  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs, climb a ladder, and be standing/on feet for up to 8 hours at a time.

Experience:

Must have proven success with achieving goals and completing tasks within a timely manner

Retail sales and customer service- a plus

Art and childcare experience- a plus*

This position requires and includes the following:

  • To be self-motivated, a good multi-tasker, and able to work independently without oversight or in a small team
  • Greeting, servicing, and closing sales with customers: professionally interacting with Customers on a daily basis
  • Assisting customers with questions, purchases and reservations
  • Setting up and executing classes, parties, and events, for both children and adults
  • Following company marketing/sales strategies that includes: selling, maintaining proper displays and signage.
  • Receive & restock merchandise deliveries: Must be able to lift up to 30lbs at times, climb a ladder, and be standing/on feet for up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Dress code willingness: business casual attire with company provided aprons. Company provided uniforms at times.
  • Inventory, organizing, stocking supplies, merchandising and keeping the studio clean and beautiful
  • Basic cleaning tasks including washing brushes, dishes, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and dusting
