  • Job Title: Graduate Assistant, Graphic Designer
  • Location: Virtual / On-site (combination)
  • Department: Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement (DPAE)
  • Reports to: Sr. Associate Director of Creative Services - DPAE Communications
  • Employment Type: 9-month graduate student stipend, tuition waiver; 20-hour/week commitment (summer options available)

JOB DUTIES:

  • Design, develop and produce printed and digital materials for multi-channel marketing campaigns targeting diverse audiences such as alumni, faculty/staff and donors under the direction of full-time designers and Sr. Associate Vice President.
  • Enhance skills in layout, print production, use of Illustration in layout and working with a professional team.
  • Prepare graphic materials using desktop publishing and various software.
  • Organize and implement procedures that ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Support Sr. Associate Director with design projects.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Kent State Master's student in visual communication design or related.
  • Previous student work or internship preferred.
  • Skill in design for both digital and print.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud experience necessary.
  • Strong illustration skills, outgoing, self-starter, motivated
