College of Education - Graduate Assistant in Department of Teacher Education
Candidates must be accepted into one of the Graduate Programs here at Lander University prior to beginning the position.
Compensation: Selected candidate will receive a 50% tuition and fee waiver as well as a $3000 stipend per semester. Note that if the GA position does not relate directly to their graduate studies the student will be taxed on the stipend and tuition benefits. Graduate Assistants work approximately 20 hours per week during the school year. Graduate Assistantships may be renewed for one additional year.
Primary Responsibilities:
The graduate assistant will work closely with the Department of Teacher Education (DTE) and our Teaching Fellows/ Teacher Cadet programs. The position will have the following responsibilities: assist the Director of Teacher Cadet with outreach to Teacher Cadet classes; assist the Director of Teaching Fellows with outreach to high schools; coordinate events for Teacher Cadet, Teaching Fellows, and the Department of Teacher Education; work with the Dean of the College of Education on retention efforts, including data analysis to identify students at risk and support outreach efforts to encourage students to use academic support services, as well as other resources (faculty, etc.).
