Finance & Administration - Graduate Assistant for Technology Administration

Candidates must be accepted into one of the Graduate Programs here at Lander University prior to beginning the position.

Compensation: Selected candidate will receive a 50% tuition and fee waiver as well as a $3000 stipend per semester. Note that if the GA position does not relate directly to their graduate studies the student will be taxed on the stipend and tuition benefits. Graduate Assistants work approximately 20 hours per week during the school year. Graduate Assistantships may be renewed for one additional year.

Primary Responsibilities: The Technology Support and Administrative Assistant will provide assistance with the maintenance, management and follow up of technology purchases; provide effective assistance with technology office tasks; help coordinate certain technology activities for the CIO and the Office of Information Technology Services; develop and maintain various departmental files; serve as a technical writer for the ITS newsletter; and successfully coordinate assigned technology and IT projects.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  Demonstrated knowledge and interest of common microcomputer applications, such as word processing and spreadsheet, multimedia tools, and the use of the Internet. Strong organizational skills; strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to establish and maintain cooperative and harmonious working relationships with a variety of campus constituencies. The successful Graduate Assistant will gain very valuable hands-on experience working for a modern Information Technology Office while serving as team member.
