STUDIO ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION 
 
Title:  Part-Time Summer 2025 Graphic Design Studio Assistant 
Department:  Graphic Design Department, ThinkFun 
Location: On-Site in Alexandria, VA 
 
ThinkFun is seeking a creative, enthusiastic Graphic Design Studio Assistant with a passion for toy and game development to assist our team. This role focuses on helping the in-house Graphic Design Department with various tasks. The ideal candidate will have a background in Graphic Design or Illustration, an interest in board games and toys, and will enjoy collaborating with a fun, fast-paced team.

*Start and end date is flexible depending on your schedule. Estimated start date- May 2025

 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Must be on site in Alexandria VA, 2-3 days a week. 

Part time work: 14-20 hours a week. 

Compensation between $20-$30 per hour (depending on experience level). 
 
 

TASKS: 

  • Filing and checking proofs of printed components at multiple stages of production
  • Organizing tools and resources for the Art Department team
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions
  • Play test games and report feedback from those tests.
  • Organize digital assets including product photography in internal databases.
  • Assist Graphic Designers with layout edits for instruction manuals, challenge cards and game boxes 

 

SKILLS: 

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft:  Word, Teams, Outlook
  • Able to work on Mac OS efficiently
  • Understanding of typography, color and layout design
  • Quick/ efficient communication on tasks and the ability to follow directions
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Deep interest in print design
  • Work seamlessly between Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Good craftsmanship to make physical mockups of packaging
