What are we looking for?

This internship position will support the AVP of Strategy & Analytics to help build data driven strategies to drive growth with our MetLife Vision product. We are seeking a detail-oriented intern who has strong analytic skills and has in interest in leveraging data to learn insights about the Vision market

 

Key Tasks

  • Data Consolidation – Assist in collecting and organizing data from various sources and help to create efficiencies in how we pull the data together
  • Data Visualization – Support the development of our data analysis presentations, and brainstorm new data visualizations and efficiencies in the process
  • Story Telling – Support the story telling aspect by developing insights about the data to drive meaningful conversations in market
  • Hands-on Experience – This role will be hands-on and the intern will work with real data to help support our MetLife sales teams.  The intern will have the ability to develop recommendations for how we can optimize a highly manual process today.  Lastly, the intern will get experience joining conversations in market with our MetLife sales teams.

What’s necessary to do the job?

  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Must have availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, between the dates of June 2 - August 1, 2025
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Have an understanding of data analysis tools and techniques including scripting (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, SQL)
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel including use of formulas
  • Excellent attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills
  • An interest in data science and artificial intelligence with a desire to learn and grow
  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of statistics and mathematical concepts
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and strong attention to detail
  • A genuine interest in helping people live healthier lives, and a desire to learn and grow in this area
