It is the intern's responsibility to secure housing in proximity to the internship site and to cover the means of transportation.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated individual who is seeking a career in occupational health and safety.  The Safety Intern will work alongside our Safety Coordinator and Leadership team on a variety of projects.  The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, knowledge of safety management styles and OSHA regulations. Responsibilities

The selected intern will spend time on the operations floor conducting audits, walkthroughs, 6S projects and process analysis. Office work will consist of policy/written plan review and revisions, research on new tools or strategies for improving safety, presenting safety trainings (with practice of course) and reviewing any incidents to determine root cause and steps for remediation. The main objective of the internship is to identify areas for improvement and assist with implementing next steps. 

Requirements

  • Pursuit of a B.S. in Occupational Health and Safety Applied Science
  • Strong organizational skills, effective communication and attention to detail.
  • Ability to commute to onsite facility in Pittsfield, MA weekly

Compensation and Applicant Instructions 

$17.00 per hour, flexible schedule to be discussed at Interview, maximum 40 hours per week.
