Scientific Affairs Intern

THE ROLE: SCIENTIFIC AFFAIRS INTERN

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Scientific Affairs Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the product development process for dietary supplements, including approaches to personalized nutrition. You will develop skills in conducting literature reviews on dietary supplement ingredients, assessing health benefits, and analyzing efficacy profiles. Additionally, you will enhance your cross-functional collaboration and scientific communication abilities.

•Identify and evaluate current trends in personalized nutrition, with a focus on gut health.

•Analyze and summarize findings on probiotics, prebiotics, fiber, and microbiome-modulating mechanisms.

•Assist in reviewing and interpreting clinical studies to support product claims and scientific substantiation.

 

CAPABILITIES + SKILLS REQUIRED:

•Self-starter with ability to work independently.

•Ability to, and interest in reading, summarizing, and interpreting scientific data.

•Ability to translate complex science to actionable insights.

•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

 

PREFERRED MAJORS + HELPFUL COURSEWORK:

Candidates must be actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:

•Nutrition Science, Food Science or Microbiology

•Biomedicine, Neuroscience, Microbiome or related health science

•Strong interest in gut health, probiotics, prebiotic and personalized nutrition

 

THE DETAILS

LOCATION: San Francisco Bay Area

HOURS: full time, non- exempt (hourly) / 40 hrs per week for 10 weeks

MANAGER: Senior Director Scientific Affairs

DEPARTMENT: Product Development
