(Seasonal) Ceramics Instructor
Appel Farm Arts Camp seeks knowledgeable Ceramics Instructors!
Applicants MUST have 1+ year of ceramics and kiln operation experience to qualify.

Ceramics Instructor & Bunk Counselor Job Description:
- Bunk Staff: Reports to the Bunk Head and in their absence, the Bunk Wellness Specialist. Partnered with another Bunk Counselor, live with and care for a group of 8-12 campers. While campers are in classes, Bunk Counselors will be assigned to be Teaching Assistants to provide support in classes or to Administrative or Operations duties for 2 of the 4 periods.
- Teaching Staff: Reports to their Teaching Specialist. Work with co-instructors to write and deliver program area classes/curriculum for 2-3 periods per class day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage regularly in all-camp, bunk area, and bunk events and activities
- Manage daily routines of bunk and campers
- Provide social-emotional support and learning
- Mediate camper conflicts
- Facilitate development of age and developmentally appropriate independent living skills
- Facilitation and supervision during bunk times (bunk clean-up, rest hour, wind down, etc.)
- Supervision at the bunk area during Afternoon Free Choice
- With the Teaching Specialist and Program Area Coordinator, build and implement curriculum and lessons relevant to specialty
- Maintain supplies and classroom spaces
- Manage and implement any safety procedures relevant to the specialty or classroom space
- Communicate with Specialist and Program Area Coordinator and co-instructors regarding class needs and camper care
- Depending on department, role may include Early Bird (before breakfast) or Afternoon Free Choice (before dinner) activity planning and supervision
- Other supervision duties as assigned
