Are you passionate about art and working with kids? Do you love guiding creative projects and helping others express themselves? Camp Weequahic is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Arts & Crafts Specialists to join our team and lead campers in a dynamic arts program this summer!

As an Arts & Crafts Specialist, you will have the exciting opportunity to guide campers through a variety of creative activities, from painting and drawing to ceramics and stained glass. You will specialize in one or more artistic areas, teaching campers new techniques while fostering self-expression, creativity, and confidence.

Role Overview

You’ll be part of our Arts & Crafts Department, working closely with other counselors to plan, teach, and supervise art activities, ensuring that campers of all skill levels have a meaningful and enjoyable experience. Whether you're leading a weaving project, teaching jewelry-making, or introducing kids to ceramics, your role will be vital in helping campers discover their artistic potential.

Key Responsibilities

🎭 Lead arts & crafts activities, including Painting & Drawing, Circuit, Weave & Stitch, Stained Glass, and Ceramics while adapting sessions to different skill levels.
🎨 Foster a positive and supportive environment where campers feel encouraged to express themselves creatively.
🔨 Assist in organizing and running special art projects, exhibitions, and creative showcases.
🏕️ Be a positive role model both in and outside of the art studio, supporting campers in all aspects of their camp experience.
🖌️ Occasionally assist in other areas of the Arts & Crafts program, such as Jewelry Making and Mixed Media.
