Assistant Youth Art Teacher Internship
Our intern supervisors will work closely with you to provide a positive and educational experience. Successful interns are self-motivated and can work in structured and unstructured environments. Please note that 9am - 3pm intern positions are unpaid. Before and after care time 8am - 9am and 3pm - 5pm are paid positions. Interns must apply for the paid position.
Educational institutions may require prior approval before the start of an internship for academic credit. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position.
Responsibilities:
• Assist Art Teachers with the summer youth programs.
• Help prepare and maintain instructional materials.
• Provide escort and assistance to children as necessary.
• Check students’ work for compliance with the teacher’s instructions.
• Organize and prepare student projects for Art Shows and displays.
The Summer Youth Program is from June 30 to August 22, 2025.
Qualifications:
Hardworking, responsible, reliable, works well with others, able to both receive direction from supervisors and give direction to students in a positive, respectful manner. Experience in visual arts, experience working with children, an academic background, personal and professional interests, and future career goals that align with our mission are a plus. Priority may be given to graduate students and undergraduate upper class persons who have an academic focus and/or experience that corresponds with available positions. Internship positions require a minimum GPA of 2.75.
