Background on Vivo Foundation

Position Summary
The Summer Intern position will take place from June 2nd to August 8th, 2025. Interns will be assigned tasks, including assisting multiple programmatic and administrative areas, with a concentration on supporting grantmaking along all the foundation’s focus areas.
The position is 25-35 hours/week for ten weeks. Assignments are expected to be carried out independently within the Vivo Foundation office space or remotely. We anticipate that the intern will come into the Foundation’s office in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood at least three days per week.
Responsibilities
- Attend site visits of current and prospective grantee organizations with Vivo Foundation staff
- Perform research on the Foundation’s focus areas
- Provide support for meetings, including preparation of materials, notetaking, and follow-up
- Attend C.A. L.E.A.D.S Program and other networking and professional development sessions
- Undertake special projects upon request
Preferred Qualifications
- Current student entering their junior or senior year of college, all majors and areas of study are encouraged to apply
- Demonstrated commitment to the Foundation’s mission of educational equity
- Interest in learning about philanthropy and the nonprofit sector
- Track record of exercising sound judgment, flexibility, and a strong work ethic
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
Work Environment and Compensation
- The compensation will be $23/hour, paid every two weeks
- Vivo Foundation will provide an organization-issued laptop
