Summer Research Assistant
Job Description
- Collect, clean, analyze, and interpret economic data
- Research various economic, fiscal, and legal issues
- Draft, proof, and edit reports, presentations, and visuals
- Create and manipulate spreadsheets for purposes of economic and fiscal modeling
- Conduct multivariate analyses, particularly regression analyses, as part of the statistical and econometric aspects of the client work
Qualifications
- Self-starter, internally motivated
- Thrives in collaborative, project-oriented settings with small groups of professionals
- Familiarity with settings involving complex problem-solving
- Analytical perspective
- Working towards or having completed a BA or BS or Master's in Economics or Public Policy, or equivalent experience
- Strong writing and proofing skills
- Familiarity with the Philadelphia region and its economic, fiscal and transportation issues
- Technical research experience: identifying sources, collecting and interpreting data
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Basic working knowledge in R or Python a plus
- Familiarity with spreadsheet modeling, fiscal and cost/benefit analysis and/or regression analysis a plus
- GIS experience required
- Demonstrated interest in spatial data
