SS 25 Fashion Design Internship
About Us:
Founded in New York City and inherently cultured, FANG NYC is a gender-expansive fashion line that aims to redefine the relationship between fashion and gender, and explores the dichotomy between femininity and masculinity. With the initial goal of diversifying fashion for queer-minded people, FANG's collections have challenged dated values and unhealthy expectations. The label hones in on statement knitwear designs and beyond that are aesthetically inclined and forward-thinking while simultaneously offering comfort and support for every body and identity.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Fashion Design Intern to assist with the development of our upcoming collections. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of the design process, from concept to execution, while learning the inner workings of an emerging fashion label.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in sketching, technical flat drawings, and creating tech packs.
- Conduct trend and material research to support the design team.
- Participate in fabric and trim sourcing, maintaining an organized material library.
- Collaborate on design development, including mock-ups and prototypes.
- Assist during fittings, taking detailed notes, and updating patterns or designs as needed.
- Help prepare presentations and mood boards for internal reviews and external pitches.
- Maintain organization in the design studio, including samples and archive management.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a senior or current graduate student in a fashion design programÂ
- Strong sketching and illustration skills (hand and/or digital).
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite as well as 3D and AI design toolsÂ
- Knowledge of technical design, garment construction, and pattern-making.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for fashion design.
- Enthusiastic, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
