Social Media Marketing Internship
We are a small, seasonal ecotourism business looking for a marketing major/minor to develop content strategy and create, edit, and publish content to Instagram, Facebook and YouTube for our wilderness ecolodge based out of Seward, AK. This position would begin immediately with editing videos using our existing database of content from social media influencers. When the lodge opens for the summer in May, there will be the opportunity to shoot content on-site and experience our wilderness ecolodge first-hand!
This is a wonderful opportunity to expand your marketing experience and presence on social media. Candidate will work closely with the lodge owners to develop a content strategy and will be given the flexibility and freedom to work according to their own schedule as long as deadlines are met. This position is remote except for on-site content shoots in the summer.
Requirements:
- student must live in Alaska and have the ability to travel to Seward at least once monthly from May - August. Lodging will be provided in Seward for on-site shoots.
- student must either be working on, or have recently completed, a marketing major/minor
- must have a working knowledge of the above-mentioned social media platforms and be up to date on algorithm trends and app updates
- have quality, efficient editing skills and access to your own editing program
- have an awareness of Alaska's travel industry and the outdoor recreation market
- be self-motivated and self-managed. There will be very little direct oversight aside from video meetings with the owners to develop content strategy, and on-site shoots
- be a skillful verbal and written communicator
- must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and be competent with Google suite tools

The Nuts & Bolts
- position will initially require about 10-20 hours per week, although this may vary greatly from week to week especially during the summer with on-site content shoots
- hourly pay rate will depend on what year of study you are in and whether your are a major or minor
