The Michigan Cider Association (MCA) exists to elevate and grow the Michigan cider industry by uniting cider makers and apple growers and connecting hard cider enthusiasts and soon-to-be fans with Michigan ciders that they’ll love!
Position Summary
The MCA is seeking a motivated and creative Marketing and Communications Intern to join our team. This role is ideal for students pursuing degrees in marketing, communications, public relations, hospitality, writing, graphic design, or related fields. The intern will play a critical role in planning, producing, and executing our social media strategy, updating our website, and creating engaging marketing materials.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive social media plan in collaboration with MCA staff.
- Create, schedule, and manage content across various social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Monitor and analyze social media metrics to optimize engagement and reach.
Website Management
- Update and maintain the MCA website with fresh content, including news, events, and resources.
- Ensure website content is current, accurate, and engaging.
Marketing Materials
- Design and produce marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, newsletters, and promotional graphics.
- Collaborate with MCA staff and board to develop and execute marketing campaigns.
Event Promotion
- Support the promotion of MCA events, including giveaways, tastings, and festivals.
- Assist in the development of event-specific marketing strategies and materials.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, public relations, writing, graphic design, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and tools.
- Experience with graphic design software and basic knowledge of website management and SEO is a plus.
- Passion for cider and the Michigan apple industry is a bonus.
