As a Historic Site Assistant in the Parks & Recreation department, you play a pivotal role in preserving and showcasing our city's vibrant history. Your responsibilities will include guiding historical tours, overseeing visitor services, maintaining engaging exhibits, and collaborating on special programs and events. Picture yourself as the welcoming face at renowned sites like the Virginia War Museum, Lee Hall Depot, Lee Hall Mansion, Historic Endview, or the Newsome House Museum and Cultural Center. Beyond providing a warm welcome, this role actively contributes to the cultural enrichment of our community. Engage with visitors, handle admissions, facilitate shop transactions, and lead captivating museum tours for a diverse audience. As a Historic Site Assistant, you'll also answer inquiries, manage administrative tasks, and provide essential support to our close-knit team.

What are the qualifications for this position? The position requires a high school diploma and one year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The applicant must be over the age of 18. It also requires acceptable general background checks to include a local and state criminal history check and sex offender registry check.
