Quantum Sensor Scientist
Join a small, highly-effective team to build breakthrough new quantum sensors for an extraordinarily broad range of applications, including:
- breakthrough new neuroscience tools for biomagnetic measurements of the brain and heart,
- sensors for space exploration,
- defense applications
- new types of NMR for chemistry,
- instrumentation to define the magnetic field unit, and
- probes into the fundamental nature of the universe.
To complete these projects, we employ a broad range of skills in engineering, physics, computer science, electronics, optics, and manufacturing.
This job is focused on the design and manufacture of quantum sensors and is ideally suited to students of physics that enjoy working with their hands on prototypes and then moving the prototypes into production, acting as an interface between the scienists, engineers, and contractors. The work involves innovation in multiple domains: mechanical, electrical, optical, thermal and determining how existing manufacturing techniques can apply to these new devices.
Although no specific physics experience is required, we seek evidence that you are highly adaptable, independent, and quick to learn new tools and techniques. The ideal candidate is creative, curious, careful, detail-oriented, and particularly strong in both oral and written collaboration and interpersonal skills.
This job is only open to US citizens. The job is in person five days a week in Plainsboro, NJ.
