Design Assistant
Join our design team and contribute to all stages of the design process, from initial concepts to final product development and execution, while collaborating closely with team members and leadership to bring the creative vision to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the design team to create category-specific products aligned with design directives.
- Gain an in-depth understanding of raw materials, fabrics, and washes within a specific classification.
- Handle daily follow-ups via email and PLM systems to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Build strong working relationships with merchants and vendors to support product development.
- Prepare for and assist with preliminary presentations while observing effective presentation techniques.
- Manage classification tasks and attend fit sessions in the absence of the designer.
- Conduct initial design research domestically to support concept development.
- Provide comments on lab dips, wash samples, and finishes with supervisory approval.
- Assist with additional duties as required to support the design team.
- Participate in in-person, in-office collaboration sessions as needed for product development, milestone meetings, fittings, and approvals, with a flexible approach to remote work based on business needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Art, or a related field (or equivalent education and experience).
- 1–3 years of relevant apparel design experience; familiarity with fleece or knits is a plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and PLM (or similar software).
- Strong eye for color, trends, details, and garment construction.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize in alignment with business goals.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Detail-oriented and tech-savvy, with the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with a mix of in-office and remote work, depending on business requirements.
