Design Coordinator
THE POSITION
The Design Coordinator reports to the Director of Design & Technical Services. This position plays a critical role in managing the quality of the development and design process, while implementing Aman’s standards and brand objectives through a focus on superior design strategies and solutions.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in maintaining strong relationships & communication with Project Consultants and Aman Corporate teams in a collaborative, team-focused manner that adds value to projects• Assist in providing Design & Technical Services guidance,attend project coordination workshops, ensure adherence to brand standards, and assist design and engineering consultant teams to develop the approved project design through to the working drawings• Assist in reviewing design consultant submitted drawings and specifications• Develop and track project schedules• Assist in following up on post site visit action items• Accurately communicate projects status. Update the Director of Design & Technical Services on a regular basis and provide projections for all design aspects and program delivery• Ensuring smooth execution of TS Smartsheet project management tool: keep schedules updated, update design documentation, monitor and execute tasks in collaboration with the project’s design manager.• Collaborate with team members, corporate teams, and external project teams to manage information flows and data exchange.• Track project and Aman Standards schedules, lists & briefs, ensuring archiving of all digital communications and documents.• Produce meeting minutes, presentations, and reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
• A bachelor’s degree in design or architecture is required• Eligibility to work in United States• Minimum 2 years of professional experience as an architectural or interior designer, design coordinator or in a related role• Familiarity with aspects of luxury hotel and resort project delivery. Deign & Technical Services background with luxury hotel operator preferred• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Proficiency in written and spoken English, additionallanguages desirable• Strong work ethic, ability to work independently and cultural sensitivity• Familiarity and interest in office management systems and procedures• Proficiency in MS Office, knowledge of Bluebeam Revu desirable• Strong organizational abilities to multitask and prioritizedaily workload efficiently• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-pacedenvironment• Excellent communication skills and efficient transmission of instructions, feedback, vision and understanding of broader project team members’ needs• Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information• Willing to travel
