Digital Media Tenure-Track Faculty
The Communication, Media and Theater Arts (CMTA) Department at Holyoke Community College seeks a full-time tenure-track faculty member to bring vision and innovation to the digital media courses and programming within the department’s Integrated Studies Degree Option. As part of the college’s efforts to ensure equitable outcomes for all HCC students, candidates must bring a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in their teaching practice, as well as a record of excellence in college-level instruction. In addition to teaching experience, candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to student-centered advising and an interest in actively engaging with the communities HCC serves.
The Integrated Studies Option provides a foundation in communication and production skills for students interested in a wide range of careers. We seek candidates with expertise in a variety of existing digital communication/production skills, such as podcasting, video production, audio production, radio, interactive digital media, and film criticism, as well as the interest and curiosity to explore new technologies as they emerge. The ideal candidate will help us revitalize our Media Arts Center through collaborative work with department faculty and college IT professionals.
In addition to teaching experience, candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to student-centered advising, and to building partnerships that will enhance students’ opportunities for career and transfer. Such partnerships may include internal collaborations with colleagues in the CMTA department or in Art and Business, as well as external collaborations to expand career and transfer opportunities for CMTA students.
Although hybrid teaching options may be available, this position will require a substantial amount of in-person, on-campus work with students, faculty, and community partners.
