Job Description

Ministry Position:      Resident of Creative Arts and Worship

Time Commitment:   40 hours per week, full-time salaried exempt

Report To:  Executive Pastor of Campus Culture


Position Overview
To oversee areas of the Creative Arts Ministry at the Bath Campus as designated. Includes leadership and participation in various aspects of the weekend services and special services and events. Will be responsible to track and train new team members, assist in leading current teams, and building new teams as needed.

Although this position will focus on the Creative Arts Ministry at the Bath Campus, the Grace Church staff works as a team across campuses and departments. All Staff must be willing to help the others when needed in love and a heart of brotherhood. 

Essential Job Functions
  • Lead worship teams for assigned weekends, services or events. This includes running rehearsal and coordinating with tech, communications and first impressions teams on weekends and during the week as needed.
  • Grow, lead and pastor weekend volunteer teams, building community and growing disciples of Jesus.
  • Work with other ministry departments and volunteers to execute an effective worship ministry that meets both the training goals of CAM and the specific ministry goals of that ministry department.
  •   Give creative input and heart to message series development as requested.
  • Function as a “shepherd” or caretaker of the congregation during worship services and teaching, modeling, and inspiring people to worship Christ together.
  • Mixing audio, running camera, or operating lighting or Propresenter as needed, for tutorials, services or other events.
  • Assist in creation of weekend service lobby music playlist.
  • Responsible for Planning Center – charting new songs, updating service orders, and updating team member information.
  • All other tasks as requested.

Specific Requirements 
  • Strong ability to coach others in music performance.
  • Strong ability to gather followers and build a team.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Bachelor degree in Music, Worship or comparable experience.
  • Experience with leading worship in “modern” contexts.
  • Experience with recording and editing music: equipment, software and techniques.
  • General knowledge of design programs (i.e. Adobe suite, content management web programs, etc)

Spiritual Life 
  • Growing in faith as a believer in Christ (2 Peter 1:5-11).
  • Must have a teachable spirit and servant’s heart (Philippians 2:1-11).
  • Has a vibrant prayer life, as this is the beginning to healthy ministry and job function (I John 5:14).

General Requirements
  • Adheres to and support the vision and philosophy of Grace Church and its leadership, including the Statement of Faith, Grace Values, and the Staff Creed. 
  • Have attended the Discovery Classes or will attend within the first six months of being hired.
  • Will care for others by appropriately praying with, consoling, speaking of Christ and/or sharing scripture. Always being concerned about the spiritual welfare of others.  
  • A solid understanding of biblical community including participating in on-going biblical community at Grace Church.
  • Possesses organizational and multi-tasking abilities and able to handle stressful situations with self-control and teamwork.
  • Possesses a strong work ethic (We are the recipients of the Lord’s money).
  • Is self-directed and a self-starter being able to work independently with minimal supervision. Is pro-active and dependable. 
  • Has a heart that is focused on ministry, not just a job.
  • Handles confidential matters and material with integrity and humbleness within a team environment.
  • Requires an intuitive understanding of sensitive ministry information. Communicates information to pastoral staff as appropriate.
  • Has the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information developing processes to efficiently get the work finished promptly.
  • Strong administrative, communication, planning and interpersonal skills.
  • Is willing to perform other duties as required in a spirit of servitude.

 Measured By
  • 30, 60, 90-day and annual review by the Executive Pastor of Campus Culture.
  • Input from staff and volunteers.
