Description
The Asian Liver Center at Stanford University is the first non-profit organization in the United States that addresses the high prevalence of hepatitis B and liver cancer in Asians and Asian Americans. Founded in 1996, the Asian Liver Center uses a four-pronged approach towards fighting hepatitis B through CARE: collaboration, advocacy, research, and education/outreach.
We are looking for a creative graphic designer capable of crafting distinct designs and excelling in a collaborative environment with multiple priorities. Utilize Adobe software such as After Effects, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator to conceive original designs for flyers, brochures, posters, and websites. Your creations will take center stage at outreach events and be showcased on the official Stanford website.
Duties
- Assist Senior Designer with promotional materials including branding, brochures, presentation designs, infographics, advertising, websites, email marketing, etc.
- Design layout and marketing items for campaigns.
- Work closely with Social Media interns and Program staffs to raise awareness.
- Collaborate with design and marketing staff to produce material graphic solutions for corporate communications, advertising and marketing items - both print and web-based.
- Update existing brochures, flyers, etc. whenever changes are requested.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to keep marketing materials in stock.
- Organize and maintain files for production and distribution.
- Assist in maintaining archive of graphic files.
- Support the team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects.
- Communicate with team members and receive feedback on design.
- Remain attentive to details at the proofing stages for all deliverable items.
- Ability to exercise good judgment when interpreting instructions and to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions
- Utilize strong written skills and bring effective visual ideas from concept through to completion.
- Willing to work outreach to public health officials, physicians, nurses, businesses, and community groups/associations.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Working towards a BA or certificate from a Graphic Design School program.
- Eligible to work in USA.
- Proficient with Creative Cloud software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premier, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have working understanding of layout, type, and color.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to follow established brand guidelines.
- Ability and willingness to learn and take directions for design.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must have excellent communication, organizational and follow-up skills, as well as a sense of urgency.
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively in dynamic environments.
- Positive attitude and a proven team player.
- Light to moderate Web design skills.
Compensation is a performance-based stipend of up to $2,000.
