Chemical Supply Chain (CSC) Global Process Hazard Evaluation
A team within Medicine Development and Supply (MDS)-CSC dedicated to ensuring all chemistry developed for scale up in GSK pilot plants and manufacturing facilities can be controlled safely. We provide chemical process hazard evaluation for all GSK: Medicine Development and Supply (MDS), Global Supply Chain (GSC) and Medicinal Chemistry. We promote the development of inherently safer chemistry, though both scientific (intellectual) and experimental based assessments.
Job Description
The candidate will be assigned technical Skill-based Process Safety oriented project(s) within the thermal stability and reaction calorimetry areas. They will be expected to develop operational proficiency on several laboratory instruments Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC), Accelerating Rate Calorimeter (ARC) and micro-calorimeter. Competency in basic laboratory procedures is required. Additionally, the candidate will conduct internal and external literature review to corroborate experimental findings. A technical presentation will be expected at the end of the Co-op cycle.

Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the 6-month assignment (January ~ June 2025).
- Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and handling chemical agents: weighing and dispensing chemical entities, etc.
- Basic understanding of computer programs, e.g., Microsoft Office
- Two semesters of college accredited organic chemistry

Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend.
