Narrative Film & TV Intern

Proximity Media (Judas and the Black Messiah, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Creed III) is a multi-media production company seeking highly motivated, ambitious interns to support our narrative film & TV departments. This hybrid position is ideal for those interested in pursuing careers as producers, writers, and/or executives — you must love reading, have strong analytical writing skills, and a passion for diverse & inclusive storytelling. Previous internship experience is preferred.

Please note that we accept applicants who are undergraduate juniors, seniors, and graduate students. We are also extending the application to those who have graduated within the last six months. Applicants not fitting the aforementioned requirement will not be considered.

Responsibilities include script coverage, industry research, watching films, ad-hoc administrative support, special projects related to our slate, and participation in company-wide staff meetings. Interns will have the opportunity to develop an original film/TV pitch to deliver to Proximity executives at the end of the internship, and also meet with industry professionals throughout the semester for wide-ranging insight into the filmmaking and development process.

The position is paid and begins in January and runs through early May. We are currently accepting in-person and remote applicants. Interns may work up to 24 hours per week, choosing between full or half-day shifts. However, all interns (including remote interns) must be available to attend our all company meetings on Tuesdays at 10am PT. In-person interns will work at the Proximity offices in Burbank, CA, for two days a week and work remotely for one day a week.

Applications are only accepted through the following link. We will not be viewing applications through Handshake. The deadline for the application is October 21st at 7:00pm PST. Please email proxintern@gmail.com for any questions regarding the internship program. Please also note that cover letters are encouraged but not required.
