Our Company Research Lab's Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) group within the Pharmacokinetic, Dynamics, Metabolism and Bioanalytics (PDMB) department is seeking a summer intern. The DMPK group provides issue-driven in vitro Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, and Excretion (ADME) data to guide lead candidate optimization and development efforts.
Learning opportunities for the prospective intern are:
Apply mathematical modeling for biologics in the context of drug discovery to help the programs move forward in the pipeline Use in vitro pharmacology data to calibrate a mathematical model; utilize the newly developed model to address questions like translation of pre-clinical data to human for efficacious dose prediction.
Opportunity to present work at working group, cross-functional, and department meetings.
The intern has a potential opportunity to publish this research depending on the program team decision.
We are seeking intern candidates at all levels with strong academic performance, communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to work in a multi- functional environment.
Location: West Point, PA
This is a full-time internship position. Housing subsidy is not available as part of this program and must be funded 100% by the student.
Required Education:
Candidates must be a currently enrolled master’s or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or related field.
Required Experience and Skills:
Candidates must be available to work full-time for up to (12) consecutive weeks beginning in May or June of 2025.
Candidate must have experience in QSP or mechanistic PK/PD modeling. Experience gained during academic graduate research projects will be considered.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Preferred to have experience on SimBiology-MATLAB, MATLAB, and Phoenix
Understanding of immunology needed for development of mechanistic mathematical models.
Understanding of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics
Basic understanding of structure of biologics (for example, monoclonal antibodies), biophysical characterization, in vitro and in vivo pharmacology experiments
Ability to document modeling and simulation excercises for future reproduction
Strong interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and collaboration skills.
GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected salary range:
$39,600.00-$105,500.00
