Chemist, Experienced
As a Chemist at PPG, you will join our automotive refinish product development team in Allison Park. You will contribute to the research and development of new clear coat products, collaborating with a global team to inspire creativity in automotive coatings. We offer the opportunity to grow into a subject matter expert and take on leadership responsibilities. Reporting directly to the Manager of New Product Development you will have a foundation in chemistry and coatings working in the laboratory as part of the automotive refinish product development team in Allison Park.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to a team leader and support the execution and communication of experimental results.
- Conduct experiments of a senior chemist and analyze data and draw scientifically sound conclusions.
- Communicate results to the supervisor and team.
- Collaborate with global development labs to guide project progress.
- Exhibit teamwork, showing a willingness to collaborate and acknowledge the contributions of others.
- Propose experiments to address specific challenges with limited input.
- Maintain a detailed and organized laboratory notebook.
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Engineering.
- 1+ year of relevant work experience, including formulating, spraying, and testing coatings.
- Experience independently planning and accomplish experiments.
- Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE).
