Irregular Warfare Research Analyst Internship

Interns will support projects funded by the Irregular Warfare Center of the Department of Defense. Interns will engage in activities such as assisting in identifying academic and policy literature relevant to the study of irregular warfare, extracting relevant information from academic and policy literature, and assisting in desk research for case studies. Specific project focus may include topics such as the role of non-state actors in irregular warfare, counterterrorism efficacy, and/or emerging topics in irregular warfare.

Interns will gain experience in research and analysis on irregular warfare, in-depth knowledge of specific topics in irregular warfare, and a deeper understanding of how the U.S. Government approaches irregular warfare in policy and practice.

Required/minimum qualifications:

• Coursework in relevant field(s), such as political science, international relations, public policy, security studies, etc.
• Attention to detail
• Experience with open-source research
• Strong interest in research, especially security research
• Ability to work independently

Preferred/Ideal qualifications:

• Enrollment in relevant graduate program, such as political science, international relations, public policy, security studies, etc.
