SNY Digital Video Content Intern

SNY is an Emmy Award winning, multiplatform regional sports network serving millions of homes throughout the New York Metropolitan area and across the country through unparalleled and exclusive coverage of the New York Mets, New York Jets, UConn women’s basketball and all things New York sports. 

The Digital Video Content group at SNY is responsible for the day-to-day planning and production of SNY's digital video and audio schedule, publishing all video content to SNY’s website, and managing SNY’s YouTube channel. Interns will assist in the production of original digital shows, such as The Putback, Mets Off Day Live, and Jets Class, be involved in the digital production and distribution of news content, help with social graphics and assets, and also provide research and content-gathering support.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong interest in sports, television production, digital media, YouTube, and social platforms
  • Maintain familiarity with SNY and New York sports culture.
  • Awareness of social media and digital trends
  • Strong computer skills, including Slack, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge in Photoshop, Premiere and AVID, ability to edit video
  • Screening/logging of games, press conferences, interviews and taped programs to prepare for editing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and creative skills
  • Any other tasks needed to support the digital team's day-to-day operations

Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution throughout the program’s duration, with a current academic standing of junior or above.
  • Pursuing or having graduated with an undergraduate degree in Communications, Broadcast Journalism, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of SNY and New York sports.
  • Strong time-management skills and the ability to excel in fast-paced environment while working independently to meet deadlines.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and a proven track record of project completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and creative skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by SNY.
  • Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.

Compensation: 

  • The hourly rate for this student internship is $16.00. 

Location & Time Commitment: 

  • This role is onsite at our New York City, NY office, requiring a commitment of a minimum of 14 hours per week. Preferred workdays are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, with flexibility for 1 or 2 off evenings at Citi Field.
