Haleon R&D supports the innovation and development of leading global brands in Consumer Healthcare. Stability Sciences is a specialized discipline that contributes to the growth of the Consumer Health Business by understanding the impact of environmental factors on the quality of products, supporting the development of new fit-for-purpose processes, and establishing shelf-life and storage conditions for products. R&D Stability is responsible for developing stability strategies, designing, and executing stability studies, evaluating data, and issuing technical stability reports.
In this role, the individual can participate and own key aspects of the stability field and will collaborate with stability colleagues and other R&D scientists to build technical knowledge in product development and data analysis. You will gain training and experience in analytical techniques, understanding of chemical degradation pathways and use of statistical modeling software and techniques.
Experience in product stability provides a strong foundation for a career stability and product development as it brings together experts from development and manufacturing, product chemistry, stability, analytical and microbial testing to define the best study to understand the science behind our products and accurately set product storage conditions and expiry periods.
What will your individual contribution at Haleon be?
- Apply learnings from early proof of concept study of Multispectral Imaging via Videometer method for the physical characterization of tablets to design a long-term study to validate a model that could be used for early stage product development decision making.
- Perform data trending, and statistical analysis using statistical software to support potential validation of a model that can predict physical appearance failures (Physical: Appearance).
- Data gathering and data consolidation from ongoing Multispectral Imaging via Videometer studies to support its implementation to future stability studies/product development.
- Engage with product development and product testing SMEs to support technical discussion and data gathering for the proposed stability studies.
- Support stability study initiations directly related to the summer project activities.

- Proficiency in statistical analysis (JMP, Statistica etc preferred)
To enable you to perform in this future talent opportunity:
Education required:
- Pursuing a BS degree in Chemistry or STEM field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
Other requirements:
- Candidates must be eligible to work on a full-time basis during the internship (40 hours/week) for 12 weeks.
- Provide your own funding for relocation and commuting.
- Able to work onsite at our Richmond, VA location.
- Must be eligible to work in the US at the time of, and for the duration of employment. Employees will be required to furnish evidence of US work authorization.
