Federal Student Intern (PAID)
Summer 2025, 10-Week Program
(this is a Civilian position supporting a Federal Agency within the Department of Defense)
Intern will work in the JMC Research Library under PCA. Intern will update and create installation histories. In the case of existing histories, intern will coordinate with JMC Historian and installation staff to update manuscripts to reflect current conditions. In the case of new histories, intern will research and draft manuscripts for review by JMC Historian. Intern will also learn to operate the ATAMS historical database and upload new data provided by the JMC Historian. Intern will briefly shadow members of the PCA staff to learn the various tasks managed by a Public and Congressional Affairs office. Additional Job Functions/Responsibilities: - The intern will provide an out-briefing to the JMC Historian and Public Affairs staff during their final week. This will include both a written summary and a presentation of the intern’s achievements related to the various tasks and initiatives. - Verbal communication and written status updates to PCA and JMC personnel will be regularly required for each of the various tasks listed. - Other deliverables may arise from the various tasks, including but not limited to: data uploading, data retrieval, analysis of workflow, suggestions for improvements to workflow, policies or procedures. - The intern work is expected to work collaboratively with the PCA team to achieve all deliverables.

Eligibility Requirements:
The ideal candidate shall be a student of at least
- Junior or Senior class standing in undergraduate school, or
- A Graduate student who is currently enrolled or has graduated within the six months prior to the start of the period of performance.
- Each candidate shall possess at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
Individual shall be enrolled in a Minority Serving Institution such as a:
- Historically Black College or University (HBCU),
- Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), or
- Tribal College (TC)
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a Background Investigation.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must be able to relocate for the summer to Rock Island, Illinois
