Communications/Video Production Intern
Position Overview
The Communications/ Video Production Internship is designed to provide on-the-job learning experiences for students studying a career in Public Relations or Communications. The intern will play an integral role in company events, with responsibilities that will significantly contribute to the success of company communication efforts.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Create and develop multimedia (audio/video) content for internal company events, promotional social media videos, product marketing videos, recruiting videos, and other projects as needed.
- Work closely with the Safety Department to record safety training videos for the company’s app, Tyfoom.
- Assist with post-production tasks such as video editing and uploading content on various platforms.
- Conduct on-site visits to capture photo and video content of various Tilcon Connecticut locations and ongoing projects.
- Assist in the final preparation for marketing materials; proofread, editing, and posting on sites.
- Support managing social media accounts (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram)
- Provide general support on projects and tasks as needed.
Other Requirements:
- Basic understanding of marketing/communication tools and techniques.
- Outgoing personality and comfortable communicating individually or within groups.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to interact in a professional manner with a wide variety of people.
- Ability to ask questions and self-discover/learn.
- Proven ability to coordinate off-site activities/events.
- Experience with major social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Familiar with video editing software Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects
- Experience operating a drone is a plus
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.
- Strict adherence to Tilcon Connecticut policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Book of Policies.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Tilcon Connecticut employees. Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule.

Education and Experience
Working towards a degree in Communications, Public Relations, or similar degree plan from an accredited college or university.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to wet, humid conditions airborne particles, and extreme heat or cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
