Scientific and Technical Intern - PennDOT District 2

THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

PennDOT has several opportunities for students to kick-start their career in Summer 2024! You can gain valuable experience in areas such as information technology, geology, or any other scientific or technical related field.  This is your chance to put your college training to use, gain indispensable skills, and experience the satisfaction of public service. 

Internship opportunities associated with this posting will be for Engineering District 2 which consists of Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Cameron, McKean, Potter, Mifflin, Elk, and Juniata Counties Counties.  

 

Work Schedule and Additional Information:  

  • Work hours will vary based on the position
  • Some positions may require travel

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Internship Requirements:

  • Must be a high school graduate or college student enrolled (or intending to enroll) on a full-time basis in a 2- or 4- year post-secondary education program for the fall semester
    • Acceptable majors: 
    • Science
    • Chemistry
    • Biology
  • You must be in good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher).
     
  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Special Requirement: Certain positions require verification of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License


Additional Requirements: 
 

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
