JOB SUMMARY
Sayap Africa is a 501(C)(3) international non-profit organization with headquarters in San Jose, California. We are seeking research associate volunteers to conduct studies on global health policies in one or more health technical areas, including HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, maternal and child health, medicine for rural areas, and health systems strengthening. Our goal is to create a significant impact on the health and well-being of people in 10 African countries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Design research studies; conduct literature reviews;
· Support the conceptualization and development of proposals for global health opportunities;
· Assist with capture, partner identification and development, and other business development activities for global health opportunities;
· Contribute to design and methodology development aligned with health systems and public health preparedness best practices;
· Contribute to the development and adaptation of existing technical approaches and tools;
· Support management of learning around public health preparedness programming, approaches, and best practices;
· Prepare and communicate articles, reports, presentations and other communication materials;
· Participate in internal work groups; Identify and collaborate with external partners on cross-cutting research and dissemination activities;
QUALIFICATION AND ELIGIBILITY
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and capabilities:
· Bachelor or master’s degree students in healthcare, public health, biology, medicine, political science, business development, non-profit, or a relevant field.
· Able to work with a variety of professionals in different roles; commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming work environment;
· Demonstrated experience performing proposal development roles;
· Demonstrated knowledge of global health projects;
· Ability to work independently or collaboratively in teams.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
