Outreach Coordinator Intern
Why this role exists
Every week, a Florida church loses a drummer or keys player on Saturday night and scrambles to fill the chair by Sunday morning. Emergency Musician fixes that. We need someone to get EM in front of the pastors and worship leaders who need it, and to turn first-time bookings into long-term relationships.
About Emergency Musician
Emergency Musician (EM) is a marketplace that connects Florida churches with vetted worship musicians in Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, and Miami. It was founded and is run by a practicing worship pastor, so we understand the problem from the inside.
Churches book a musician for a single Sunday or sign up for a covered chair: a recurring placement where EM supplies the regular musician and a backup when that musician can't make it.
About the role
This is a 12-week, part-time, remote internship focused on two things: bringing new churches to EM, and making sure churches that book once come back. You'll find and contact churches, book discovery calls for EM's founder, and follow up with every church after its first booking so it's ready to talk about a covered chair. EM's founder runs those calls and closes the agreements.
By the end of the internship, you'll have:
- Booked at least 20 discovery calls with churches that have a real musician need
- Followed up with every first-time church within 48 hours of its first Sunday
- Left a clean CRM pipeline that someone else can pick up on day one
What you'll do
- Find churches. Use EM's church CRM and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to find pastors and worship leaders across our four metros.
- Make first contact. Reach out by phone, text, and email using EM's scripts, and adjust them based on what works.
- Qualify and book. Find out which churches have a real musician gap, and book discovery calls on the founder's calendar.
- Follow up after first bookings. Check in with each new church within 48 hours of its first Sunday, collect feedback, and set up the covered-chair conversation.
- Keep the CRM clean. Log every contact, update stages, and record next steps the same day.
- Report weekly. Bring your pipeline numbers and what you're learning to a 30-minute weekly check-in.
