Fashion Design Co-op Intern

SP27 MAGNETIC ME APPAREL INTERN

Who Are We?

Magnetic Me, the inventor of magnetic fastening clothing, is a leading New York-based clothing company catering to modern baby and lifestyle consumers. At Magnetic Me, we bring together strong, collaborative people in a culture of mutual respect, support, accountability, and passion for the brand and product. Our goal is to offer an inspirational and modern workplace that allows for exceptional talent to thrive.

About the Role

This is a hands-on co-op for a design student who wants to understand how an apparel brand builds new products and categories from concept to market. That's exactly the moment Magnetic Me is in, so this is a real opportunity to join a team where you can actually contribute. Working alongside our design team, you won't just observe the process — you'll be an integral part of it, and you'll leave having worked across the full product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Illustration — Assist with both digital and hand sketches, color palettes, and mood boards.
  • Development — Research upcoming seasons and new categories, create and update tech packs, and organize fabric and trim libraries.
  • Presentation — Prep and organize boards, swatches, and garments for design reviews and presentations.

Qualifications

  • Education — Currently pursuing, or a recent graduate of, a degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
  • Technical Software — Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Miro, and Excel.
  • Craftsmanship — Basic to advanced knowledge of garment construction, textiles, sewing, and/or patternmaking.
  • Soft Skills — A love for fashion, strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Magnetic Me is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity. All employment decisions are made on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need.
