Design Intern

Ranco Fertiservice, Inc. is a premier manufacturer of fertilizer blending and handling equipment. We have been manufacturing durable, high-quality fertilizer blending and handling equipment since 1961. This position is for a student assigned to support current production programs, new development programs, and design process improvements. This position will support a variety of projects in the areas of structural system design, mechanical design, manufacturing engineering, sales engineering, and new business process development.

The primary software used by our Designers is SolidWorks for our machine design and AutoCAD for our site designs.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist more experienced Engineers in the design of machinery using SolidWorks

• Work with more experienced Designers to create and revise site layouts using ACAD to design real world solutions to unique customer challenges on a site by site basis

• Work with engineering and sales to improve the preliminary project quoting experience

Job Requirements:

• Current standing as a sophomore, junior, or senior student actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate engineering program

• Knowledge of or an interest in agricultural and industrial construction

• Proficient in SolidWorks, knowledge of or the ability to learn AutoCAD

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Must have completed a foundational design course

• The ability to work in the United States immediately

• A strong mechanical aptitude

• The desire to work in the agricultural industry

• The desire to work in a small town, rural environment
