Mechanical Engineering Co-op

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the job include:

• Assist with mechanical design and drawings of custom edge-lit LED lighting solutions.
• Hands on optical test, evaluation, and debugging of prototype and production components.
• Optical design and analysis.
• Work on a combination of engineering specialties covering more than one discipline.
• Report writing, data extrapolation, data-handling, record-keeping, and documentation work.
• Perform other duties as necessary to accomplish departmental objectives.

Required Experience/Skills:

• In progress of a bachelor’s degree (B. S.) or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills.
• Self-starting and approachable, enthusiastic but practical in developing new technologies.
• Creativity - must be able to conceptualize numerous ways to achieve a design and review concepts in a team environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficient in CAD, SolidWorks preferred.
