Social Media Intern (Content Creator)
Title: Social Media Intern (Content Creator)
Company: Smith EMS
Location: Minnetonka, MN (Hybrid)
Pay: $18-20/hour
Hours: 10 to 20 per week
About Smith EMS
Smith EMS provides licensed EMTs for high school and youth sports across Minnesota and neighboring states. We staff 70+ athletic programs and have covered 7,500+ games. We are not generic EMS. Our medics are sport-aware and response-ready, and we always show up. Safety is the heart of every game, and our content should make people feel that.
The role
We are hiring a Social Media Intern to own our day-to-day social content. You will be the one capturing the energy of game day and turning it into mobile-first content that grows our audience. You will shoot on your phone and our DJI Osmo Pocket 3, edit it yourself, and post it. This role owns trendy reels start to finish. You will work alongside our videographer, who handles our higher-production content, so the handoff stays seamless. You will also be the public face of the brand. Expect to be on camera and walk up to strangers at events, so a bubbly, social personality is a must.
What you'll do
- Be on camera as a recognizable face of the brand
- Shoot mobile-first content on location at games and events
- Edit reels and short-form video (fast-turnaround, trend-aware)
- Run Instagram and LinkedIn as our primary platforms
- Help us grow Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok
- Write captions and schedule posts
- Coordinate with our videographer on content planning and handoffs for larger projects
What we're looking for
- A bubbly, social personality who is comfortable on camera and approaching strangers
- A strong eye for short-form video and current social trends
- Comfort shooting and editing on mobile (CapCut, Instagram Edits or similar)
- A portfolio, reel, or client proof of past work (preferred)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required, this role travels to events)
- Self-starter who can own a task list without hand-holding
Logistics
Hybrid role. You will work on-site at the games and events you are assigned in the Twin Cities, and from home for editing and posting. The role may also spend time at our Minnetonka office space. Target start date is end of September 2026.
