School: PS 310 Marble Hill
Location: 260 W Kingsbridge Rd, Bronx, NY 10463

or 

School: Dos Puentes Elementary School
Location: 185 Wadsworth Ave, New York, NY 10033


Schedule: Part Time, 6-8 hours a week between 2pm-6pm, for the duration of the school year, with the possibility of
seasonal work with CASW Summer Camps.
Compensation: $40/hour, commensurate with experience


Position Purpose
CASW is seeking an engaging Dance Instructor to lead fun, culturally relevant dance lessons for elementary school K-5th with the possibility of a few showcases a year for families to enjoy.

The role focuses on project-based learning that encourages creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and exploration.


Duties & Responsibilities
● Lead engaging, hands-on dance classes for elementary school students
● Implement and assist with the development of dance curriculum and lesson plans
● Adapt activities to different ages, skill levels, and learning styles
● Prepare and request supplies and materials in advance of classes
● There will be 2 Program Staff per classroom assisting. You will provide guidance and direction to them, as assigned
● Maintain an organized, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
● Communicate with the Program Director regarding student participation, progress, and program needs
● Plan and participate in culminating projects, showcases, or events


Qualifications
● Minimum of 60 college credits; degree preferred
● Experience or expertise in performance arts, dance, choreography, teaching youth and other related areas
● Experience working with elementary or school-age children
● Patient, kind, friendly, creative, and enthusiastic
● Strong communication and organizational skills
● Ability to create fun, age-appropriate, and engaging experiences
● Reliable, punctual, and professional
