Business Unit and Position Summary:
Crane Nuclear is a Business Unit within the Process Flow Technologies Group of Crane Co, a US multi-national company which specializes in highly engineered products in niche markets. Crane Nuclear provides valves, valve parts, valve testing products, and valve maintenance/testing services to domestic and international commercial nuclear power customers. Crane Nuclear features
recognized valve brands and is an industry leader in valve diagnostic technology and valve maintenance/testing scope-based process driven services.
 

The Mechanical Engineer Intern will participate in the design and development efforts for a broad range of systems, sensors, and software. Development will include proposing, estimating, scheduling, designing, prototyping, and testing. This person will serve as a member of the project team in support of company products and services.

Principle Responsibilities:

• Learn various aspects of current Crane Nuclear software and hardware (MOV, AOV, and CV).
• Coordinate efforts with other team members to resolve technical and administrative conflicts.
• Develop validation test plans for new products or product upgrades.
• Perform testing for a broad range of products.
• Maintain detailed project records for all assigned projects.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Working toward a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles and some exposure to project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations pertinent to product development and testing.
• Experience with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for both software and hardware problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior experience with SolidWorks desired.
